“Care for Children” project
The “Care for Children” started by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar more than 30 years ago runs free schools all over India. Most of the children are first generation learners. Everyone is invited to come, have fun and contribute to this project and help bring about transformation in the lives of the youth of India. Many of us wish to help bring about change in underprivileged communities in a long-term, sustainable way. With this vision of long-term change, the volunteers of Art of Living, a global educational and humanitarian non-profit organization runs free schools. There are currently 118 schools teaching 13055 children.
The founder of Art of Living, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar‘s vision is to have a “broad-minded education accompanied by a warm heart. Education is not just information. It is culturing of our behavior and attitude. It is our ability to perceive things better. We need to bring in creative ideas. We should empower village youth, and bring them self-esteem."
